The AA in Elementary Education is appropriate for students who require practical and professional skills and knowledge that can lead to upper division programs in elementary education, special education, and prepares para-educators.

Program Information

The Teacher Education Department offers an Associate of Arts Degree in Elementary Education (AAEE). The AAEE is a common program of study across the state and has been endorsed as the best preparation for becoming either an elementary or special education teacher.

The AAEE degree is appropriate for students who require practical and professional skills and knowledge that can lead to upper-division programs in elementary and special education and also prepares paraeducators. After completing an AAEE degree, students may choose to continue and complete their Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (BSEE) at Central Arizona College. For more information about the BSEE contact Education Advisor Elizabeth Pomeroy at Elizabeth.Pomeroy@centralaz.edu.

The AAEE is transferrable to Arizona State Universities such as ASU, NAU and the U of A. Check the AZ Transfer website to learn more about coursework needed.
