The Night Thoreau Spent In Jail

We will have six performances of this Spring Play: 4/13, 4/14, 4/20, 4/21 from 7 p.m.-10 p.m. & Sundays, 4/15 and 4/22 from 3p.m. to 5 p.m., Tickets are: $5
This two-act play was written in 1970 and is based on the early life of Henry David Thoreau. He was jalied for refusing to pay a poll tax on the grounds that the money might be used to pay for the Mexican-American War, which he opposed. There is an ideological relevance to today's audiences, as the play approaches concerns such as unwanted war in another land, civil disobedience, and the interdependence of man and nature, education and the role of goverment. Enjoy this historical drama that will enlighten still today.
