Courtesy and Quiet Hours
Courtesy Hours:
- Noise in common areas must be kept to a minimum
- Noise made inside your room should not be audible outside of your room
- Courtesy Hours are in place 24-hours a day, 7 days a week in the residence halls and on housing grounds
Quiet Hours:
- Are enforced in the residence hall and on housing grounds as a supplement to the 24-hour Courtesy Hours. Quiet hours are in effect from 10 p.m.-8 a.m.Sunday through Thursday and from midnight - 8:00 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays; additional Quiet Hours may apply within a specific Living Learning Community (LLC).
Note: 24-hour Quiet Hours are in effect during the finals week of each semester.
Damage and Vandalism: Community Billing
Residents are expected to notify the hall staff immediately regarding individuals:
- damaging
- stealing and/or
- vandalizing residence hall facilities and property
Each resident will be held accountable for any damages, thefts or vandalism for which they are personally responsible. In the event that individual(s) responsible are not identified for damages, theft or vandalism that occurs on a specific community, the repair amount will be divided among all residents residing on the floor/neighborhood as per the Residence Life Billing policy. This amount will be billed to each student's account.
Fire/Emergency Safety
- Residents and their guest must evacuate the building whenever a fire alarm sounds
- Tampering with or disabling fire equipment is a felony in the state of
Arizona
Student Life Has a Zero Tolerance Policy for Abuse of a Fire Extinguisher
Unauthorized discharge of a fire extinguisher will result in:
- $75 recharge fee
- $500 fire code violation fine
- removal from housing
- possible expulsion from the institution
Assembly Areas
In the event that it becomes necessary to evacuate the halls, the designated assembly area for residentiall students is in Parking Lot A. Long-term evacuation staging will take place in the gymnasium and will be communicated to the students in a timely manner by College official(s).
