Hall of Fame Information:
Coach Laursen was inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame on June 14, 2008 at the Bijou Theatre in Knoxville, Tenn.
As Lin Laursen prepares to head out, her legacy keeps the accolades rolling in.
Lin arrived at CAC in 1971. In 1974, the ACCAC was formed and records were kept. Lin coached three sports for eight years but gradually just moved into basketball. Her accomplishments are as follows:
- NJCAA National Champions - 1989, 1998, 2005
- Final Four - 1988, 1989, 1990, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008
- 29 ACCAC Titles
- 21 Consecutive Titles
- 185 Consecutive ACCAC Wins
- 27 NJCAA National Tournaments
- 10 National Tournaments in a Row (1986-1995)
- 102 All Conference/All Region Players
- 35 All Americans
- 31 Years - 20 or More Wins
- 20 Years - 30 or More Wins
- 23 Years - Average of 28 Wins Per Season
- 140 Players Sent to Major Universities
- 1994 Alberta Lee Cox Sportsmanship Award
- ACCAC League Record: 628-32
- Overall Record: 971-144
On March 5th, 2003 Lin reached # 800 in the win column. She joins only three other women to accomplish such a feat. She is second to Lorene Ramsey from Illinois Central for all-time wins at the Junior College level.
Many of here former players have gone on to become lawyers, coaches, engineers and two currently in the WNBA. Her Motto: “I’m not in it for the income, but the outcome.”
