Tramaine Aaron is entering his first season as Top Assistant Coach for the Central Arizona College Men's Basketball team. Aaron comes to Central Arizona after spending two years as the Graduate Assistant at his alma mater, Berry College, which is in Rome, Georgia.
Prior to his time as a Graduate Assistant, he spent two years playing professionally in Germany. While there the former Berry point guard was a two-year starter and team captain. Aaron played for TV Werne BB Club of the Regionalliga Deutsch Basketball League. There he earned MVP honors and led the team to a league championship in the same year in 2010.
While continuing his playing career, Aaron also began his coaching career, serving as the head coach of Werne's U18 girls team and its first division women's team. He has also served as the co-director of Southern Polytechnic State University's Jr. Hornets Basketball Camp and as a coach at Berry's annual summer camps.
During Aaron's collegiate playing career, the Marietta, Ga., native earned first team All-Southern States Athletic Conference honors and North West Georgia Tip-Off Club Player of the Year as a junior and senior. Aaron was an NAIA All-American in 2006-07, his final year on campus. A multiple-time SSAC Player of the Week who served as Berry's team captain in each of his final two seasons, Aaron helped lead the Vikings to a pair of appearances in the semifinals of the SSAC Tournament.
Aaron enrolled at Berry after a stellar prep career in which he helped lead Wheeler High School to a pair of Class AAAAA state titles. In 2003, his senior year and the second of Wheeler's back-to-back championship seasons, Aaron earned All County honors, was selected to the Arby's Classic All-Tournament team, received Cobb County Tip-Off Club Player of the Month and All-State Tournament honors.
Aaron earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Marketing and, more recently, a Master's of Education degree both from Berry College in 2007 and 2013, respectively.
