Instructional and interest areas: Involved as a researcher in ongoing NASA missions to the Moon, Saturn, and other planets. Co-author on a 2010 paper in the journal Science about the LCROSS spacecraft impact into the Moon’s South Pole and the composition of the icy ejected debris. Hobbies include hiking, mountain climbing, and of course stargazing.
Education: A.B. University of California at Berkeley 1983 in Physics and Applied Math Ph.D. University of Colorado at Boulder 1989 in Astrophysical, Planetary and Atmospheric Sciences
