Instructional and interest areas: I teach each of the courses that we offer in speech communication: Com 100 – Introduction to Human Communication; Com 101 – Interpersonal Communication; Com 202 – Introduction to Group Communication; Com 206 – Public Speaking; Com 263 – Intercultural Communication. I enjoy being able to teach the wide range of course that CAC offers in the communication discipline. In particular I enjoy Intercultural Communication, which was a focus of my graduate studies. I have developed an interest in studying and teaching about the Japanese Relocation Camp that was nearby on the Gila River Reservation during WWII. I also enjoy teaching about group communication and leadership. Service learning projects and an opportunity to get my students involved in on campus and community projects are an integral part of my group communication curriculum.

ABOUT ME: I was born and raised in a small town in northern California. After college, I spent seven years in Harrisburg, PA, teaching at Harrisburg Area Community College. I came to Arizona in 2000, and have been a faculty member at CAC since 2005. I live with my family in Chandler, AZ.
