I strive to challenge, inspire, and motivate.
I see myself as a facilitator, not an infallible authority, and welcome multiple perspectives that ensure meaningful class interaction.
I believe writing is a skill, not a gift, but to produce something good, you need revision, revision, and some more revision.
I believe the best writing assignments have a practical application, and therefore try to create projects that have relevance to students’ lives. Showing students that writing classes have real-life application and are relevant to almost any career they will choose to pursue is one of my most prominent goals in freshman composition courses.
