Clinical Laboratory Assistant (CLA)

Clinical laboratory assistants perform phlebotomy, specimen processing, quality control, laboratory orientation and regulation under the supervision of physicians or laboratory scientists or technologists. They perform point-of-care and waived laboratory tests and procedures with a limited amount of supervision. Record keeping, providing point-of-care and waived laboratory test results to Physicians. They also prepare specimens for transport if necessary.

This program is a 2 semester certificate if taken on a full-tme schedule and the pre-requisite is that you have completed the Phlebotomy class. For program of study and to see the classes that make up this program, please
