Dietetic Technician Associate of Applied Science

Welcome to the Dietetic Technician Program offered by Central Arizona College (CAC). This program awards an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree emphasizing medical nutrition therapy and food service management.  It is designed to help students acquire the knowledge and skills to work in dietetics through didactic coursework and a minimum of 450 hours of supervised practical experience.

The Dietetic Technician AAS degree at CAC is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) www.eatright.org/ACEND. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be eligible to take the Registration Examination from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) www.cdrnet.org.  A passing score is required to become a Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR).
