Central Arizona College offers several courses in Mass Communications that transfer to Arizona’s four-year universities. Two of these courses--Writing for the Print Media and Introduction to Mass Communications--are required for a Bachelors Degree in Mass Communications.

A four-year degree in journalism prepares a student to research and deliver news and other current information to consumers in a variety of media. Students of mass communications learn to gather information and use storytelling to share information through print, film, radio, television and the internet.

Producing a College Newspaper

In addition to required mass communications classes, the CAC journalism faculty offers students the invaluable experience of working for a college newspaper: Central Arizona College's Cactus. Students who work for the newspaper learn about writing, editing, advertising sales, layout, publishing technology and production. They also may be assisted with scholarships and work study assignments.

Digital Imaging Classes

The department also offers courses in photography and graphic design, both of which are transfer electives to Arizona universities.
