Central Arizona College’s  Communications Division, the largest division in the college, houses courses in reading, languages, writing, literature,  and speech communication.

Our classes serve as core curriculum classes for nearly every certificate, degree, and transfer  program at the college and our goal is to provide the foundational skills that  employers desire:  the ability to read critically, speak and write effectively for a variety of audiences and purposes, and the ability to communicate via multiple modalities and  in more than one language.

Communications Division faculty value and appreciate diverse perspectives in the teaching and learning environment and encourage students to explore subjects from a range of perspectives.  Additionally, faculty  teach using innovative  instructional methods, and courses are offered on a variety of levels and modalities (such as day, evening, and weekend times, as well as online and hybrid formats) in order to meet the varied needs of the college population.  Communication division faculty are concerned about student achievement and work closely with other college services such as the learning centers and libraries in order to help students complete classes successfully.
