PINAL COUNTY, Ariz. - On Thursday, April 3, Central Arizona College will be hosting a Career Explorations Workshop & Entrepreneurship Seminar. The seminar will feature various workshops, forums, panels, and special guest speakers. Scheduled to run from 9:00 a.m to 12:30 p.m, the seminar will be held in a variety of classrooms on the Signal Peak Campus, which is located between the cities of Casa Grande and Coolidge.

The event will kick off with an address by Casa Grande's City Manager Jim Thompson. Each workshop or informational program will feature a special speaker from either a local business or CAC staff member. A job interview skills workshop will be hosted by the Human Resource Department of Harrah's Ak-Chin Casino. While a How to Dress for Business workshop will be held by Student Leadership. With so many choices, attendees are bound to find a workshop or representative to answer their questions.

A few of CAC's academic programs will also be featured, including accounting, business, computer information systems, culinary arts and hotel and restaurant management. The seminar will be divided into three sessions, with each featuring five different workshops from which attendees can choose to participate.

While the workshops will be the highlight of the seminar, there will also be staff members present to provide information on new business and entrepreneurial opportunities for students. One such opportunity is the new for-credit 45-hour student internship through CAC that can help connect you to the world of industry.

Also present will be representatives from Northern Arizona University, Arizona State University, and University of Arizona, who will be able to guide you on transfer pathway options into business school programs, specialized programs in culinary arts and hotel and restaurant management and computer-related areas such as networking, programming, web design or computer applications at their respective universities.

During the business seminar, Signal Peak's 10th Annual Career Fair will also be open to those visiting the campus. From 10:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m, those who attend the seminar can use their newfound knowledge to seek a career path. The Career Fair will be held in the George Young Activity Center.

Both events are open to the public at no cost. High school and college students and community members are encouraged to attend. Schedules will be provided with locations and times for each workshop.
