Take Back the Night event features solidarity march from justice court to Superstition Mountain Campus

APACHE JUNCTION, AZ – With the goal to stop sexual violence, members of the community are invited to participate in an awareness movement on Thursday, March 14, from 6-8 p.m. at the Pinal County Justice Court and Central Arizona College’s Superstition Mountain Campus.
The evening will begin at 6 p.m. at the Pinal County Justice Court located at 575 N. Idaho Road #200 in Apache Junction, Ariz., where participants will assemble for the Solidarity March.
The keynote speakers - Natalie Emhka with Pretty Feisty - will lead the march from the court to the Superstition Mountain Campus at 805 S. Idaho Road where the inspirational program will continue with Divine Essence, a well-known spoken word artist, along with fellow poet Azteca.
The evening will conclude with a candlelight vigil and some special giveaways for the participants.
Sexual assault crimes continue to appear in the news in epidemic proportions. As the history of Take Back the Night continues to be written, its mission to end sexual violence remains a beacon of hope for the millions affected by crimes of violence.
