BBQ, movie under the stars headline Welcome Week at SMC

APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. - With Central Arizona College ready to unveil its new-look Superstition Mountain Campus, the college is welcoming its students and staff for the beginning of a new academic year.

Welcome Week, billed as an opportunity for attendees to make new friends, is a 10-day event full of activities open and free to all CAC students, faculty and staff. The event will take place Monday through Friday, Aug. 20-31, at the Superstition Mountain Campus in Apache Junction, Ariz., just north of U.S. Route 60 at the intersection of Broadway and Idaho roads.

Highlights of the SMC Welcome Week slate include tours of the newly-renovated campus beginning at noon on Aug. 20; a Welcome Barbeque scheduled for Aug. 22, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the campus courtyard; and an outdoor viewing of the family movie Big Miracle slated for 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 30 at the SMC Amphitheater.
