NARIP discussion, State of Live Performance in Phoenix & Beyond, Sept. 26 at CAC

PINAL COUNTY, Ariz. - Peter Sotos, founder and president of Fireball Music Management, will lead a panel discussion on the State of Live Performance in Phoenix & Beyond on Monday, Sept. 26, at Central Arizona College's Signal Peak Campus.Peter Sotos

The panel discussion will run from 7-9:30 p.m. in Room 101 of the Student Services Center (Building M, Clock Tower). Registration and networking will begin at 6 p.m., while the local band So Much For Serious will perform outside of the Student Services Center from 6:15-6:50 p.m.

The event is sponsored by the Central Arizona College Entertainment Industry Technology program and the National Association of Recording Industry Professionals (NARIP).

Those who should attend the event include artist managers, agents, promoters, record and publishing executives, producers, individual who work with artists to promote their careers, and anyone seeking to stimulate demand for music by way of live performances.

Participants must register online at www.narip.com. The cost of the event is $10 for NARIP members and $20 for non-members.

Any Central Arizona College students enrolled in the Entertainment Industry Technology classes may attend at no cost, but they must e-mail Rick Moore, professor of instrumental music and the CAC band director, at rick.moore@centralaz.edu in advance.

Originally hailing from New York, Sotos engulfed himself in everything music from a young age - learning guitar, drums, and even singing. He spent time as a roadie for the band The Ballistics, and played in many of his own groups - including a Black Sabbath Tribute Band.

Sotos is a member of NARIP and the Arizona Music & Entertainment Hall of Fame Advisory Council. He has taken acts like We Are They from local to international in a single year, making the group a real-life success story.

Additional panelists including Pandy Raye, co-founder of Chicks With Picks, and Zach Yoshioka of K&Z Entertainment/Powerline Management.

The event will be moderated by TAIKUN, a member of the Zaria Music Management Marketing Group and a NARIP marketing manager.
