CASA GRANDE, Ariz. – Life, death and taxes - the three so-called guarantees in life. Many people seek the advice of certified life coaches and tax professionals but most, understandably, neglect the importance of planning for death.
Central Arizona College’s Community Education program is offering a pair of classes that will assist participants with the planning and coping of death and dying. Both classes are instructed by veteran pre-planning and aftercare advisor Aurora Corriero.
Pre-Planning Your Celebration of Life will be offered on Feb. 9 from 10 a.m.-Noon, while Living through Death, Dying and Loss will be held at the same time on Feb. 23.
The classes are $25 each and will take place at CAC’s Corporate Center, located just west of I-10 at the Florence Boulevard interchange in Casa Grande.
Pre-Planning Your Celebration of Life is a practical seminar that will lead participants through funeral/ceremony preparation steps. Financial, legal, cemetery, religious and emotional issues will be addressed so that participants will learn how to take charge after having benefitted from pre-planning.
Living through Death, Dying and Loss examines the natural process of death, dying and loss. Various aspects of the denial process surrounding death such as grieving, mourning, and spirituality also will be explored.
Corriero has eight years experience as a pre-planning and aftercare advisor in grief management and funeral preparation.
“I believe that I can inform and develop insight into both the grieving process and overcoming fears surrounding death and funeral preparation,” she said.
