PINAL COUNTY, Ariz. - In preparation for the spring semester slated to begin in January, Central Arizona College students now may register online, over the phone, or in person for one of seven three-hour orientations available on three campuses and at two centers across Pinal County.
"Orientation to College is a good foundation for those attending college for the first time," Jenni Gonzales, CAC's director of student retention, explained. "It also serves as a great refresher for those who have already enrolled in classes. Many students, new and returning, are not aware of all of the resources available to them. Orientation points those students in the right direction."
Students studying at the Signal Peak Campus (SPC), as well as the college's Maricopa and San Tan centers, have five dates and times from which to choose. SPC will hold orientations Thursday, Jan. 5, from 5-8 p.m. as well as Saturday, Jan. 7, from 9 a.m.-Noon.
The San Tan and Maricopa centers will offer one date each - Wednesday, Jan. 4, 5:30-8 p.m. at the San Tan Center, and Friday, Jan. 6, 9-Noon at the Maricopa Center.
The college's Aravaipa (AVC) and Superstition Mountain (SMC) campuses also will hold orientations. AVC students may attend on Thursday, Jan. 5, 5-6:30 p.m.
SMC, meanwhile, offers two orientation options, both from 8:30-11:30a.m on Thursday, Jan. 5 and Saturday, Jan. 7.
CAC's Orientation to College provides new and returning students and their families the opportunity to connect with other students, faculty and staff. Each orientation includes topics ranging from how to get connected with student activities to locating academic resources, just to name a few.
