By Ashton Graham
PINAL COUNTY, Ariz. - The disciplines of figure drawing, human anatomy and sculpture supply indispensible knowledge for artists, illustrators and animators.
J.D. Parrish, the new instructor of the Life Drawing Art 203 class that will be held on Fridays from 10:30 a.m.-3:15 p.m. at Central Arizona College's Signal Peak Campus, offers students an introductory workshop to the course at no cost.
The drawing demonstration will take place this Tuesday, Aug. 16, in Room 106 of the Bradley Sizer, Jr., Center for Business Studies (Building N) from 2:30-3:30.
Parrish trained at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. He has 20 years of college teaching experience in the Phoenix area as well as extensive experience as an illustrator with commercial giants Touchstone, Paramount Pictures, Universal Studios, Warner Brothers and Disney Studios.
His illustrations, paintings, drawings and sculptures have appeared in dozens of venues and many fine local and international art galleries. The style of his paintings, drawings and figure sculpture is founded in the classical tradition.
The demonstration will take place three days before the course begins, so there will still be time for students to enroll.
