CAC’s Corporate Center in Casa Grande gearing up for Weekend College classes beginning in October

CASA GRANDE, Ariz. - Central Arizona College will be offering six different college credit courses on weekends beginning the week of Oct 15 at the Corporate Center in Casa Grande.
Weekend College is perfect for individuals who work Monday through Friday and still want to enhance their lives with ongoing education.
To help facilitate student success, free Wi-Fi access, a computer lab, a learning center/study area with scheduled tutors, coin-operated soda/snack machines and free coffee are provided within the building.
An experienced staff of professors is available to foster a healthy learning environment for all who attend.
Two courses worth three credit hours each will be presented on Friday evenings from 6-8:45 p.m.
ENG102 English Composition IV- CRN#10593 is a hybrid class beginning Oct 15, and ending Dec 10. This course takes place in Room 120 and will contain an emphasis on critical thinking, close reading, analysis and advanced research skills through the development, writing and revision of complex arguments (Prerequisite: ENG101).
MAT086 Pre-Algebra - CRN#10598 is a hybrid class also beginning Oct 15 and ending Dec 10. This course will be held in Room 135 and reviews the fundamental aspects of algebra, providing a strong base for success in future algebra studies (Prerequisite: MAT082. Recommended: RDG091). COM100 Fundamentals of Human Communications - CRN#10590 is a hybrid course beginning Oct 16 and running through Dec 11. This course takes place in Room 106 and will cover basic theories, dimensions, concepts of human communicative interaction, behavior in small groups, interpersonal communication and public speaking (Prerequisite: RDG094). ENG100 English Composition II - CRN#10591 is hybrid class beginning Oct 16 that runs through Dec 11. This course will be held in Room 120 and is an introduction to academic writing. Emphasis is placed on generating ideas, expressing those ideas in essay form and using one’s writings to identify punctuation, grammar and spelling errors to create effective strategies for correction. One course worth 4 credit hours will be presented on Saturday mornings from 8-11 a.m.
MAT121 Intermediate Algebra, Standard - CRN#10605 is a hybrid, face-to-face and online class beginning Oct 16 that will end Dec 11. This course takes place in Room 135 and will cover operations/properties of real numbers, exponents and complex numbers; factoring, solution/application of linear and quadratic equations; operations on rational and radical expressions. One course worth one credit hour will be presented off campus on Saturday afternoons from 4-4:50 p.m.
PAC113 Total Body Conditioning - CRN#11530 will meet at Snap Fitness in Casa Grande beginning Oct 16 through Dec 9. The facility is located at 973 E. Cottonwood Lane. Through aerobic exercise, this course covers upper body conditioning, abdominal conditioning, stretching techniques, safety, diet and nutrition. The satisfactory/unsatisfactory grading option is available and the class may be taken four times for credit.
