Emma’s persuasion overcomes pride and prejudice with sense and sensibility – Jane Austen comes to CAC

PINAL COUNTY, Ariz. – Central Arizona College’s Community Events is offering a fun alternative to football widows all the way through Super Bowl Sunday and the NCAA Final Four.

The Sunday Book Club will discuss the works of author Jane Austen, an early 19th Century writer who explored the daily lives of English society.

The monthly community discussion group will meet from 3-5 p.m. starting Oct. 5 in the Community Events Lobby (Building N, Room 107) on Central’s Signal Peak Campus. The book club is free and open to the public.

The following list contains the meeting dates for the book club and the selected Jane Austen titles that will be discussed:

Oct. 5 – Meet and Greet
Nov. 2 – Sense and Sensibility
Dec. 7 – Pride and Prejudice
Jan. 11 – Mansfield Park
Feb. 8 – Emma
March 8 - Northanger Abbey
Apr. 5 - Persuasion
