September 29, 2008
GOLD CANYON, Ariz. – Central Arizona College’s Great Woman of CAC Fund received a boost from Gold Canyon Bank thanks to a donation by the local financial institution.
Gold Canyon Bank Chairman of the Board Aaron Saunders presented CAC President Dennis Jenkins with a $1,000 check designated for the Great Women of CAC program on Aug. 21 at the bank’s offices in Gold Canyon.
“Gold Canyon Bank receives community contributions as part of its Small Business Association Loan Program,” Vice President Debbie Jusko explained. “This year we have designated the funds to be given to Central Arizona College’s Great Women of CAC fund. This contribution is in conjunction with our annual Healthy, Wealthy & Wise women’s event.”
The Great Women of CAC was initially organized by Dr. Glenna McCollum when she was a member of the Central Arizona College staff. McCollum is now the director of Gold Canyon Bank and has helped expand the college program into the Great Women of Pinal County.
The 2009 Healthy, Wealthy & Wise event is scheduled for March 7 to coincide with International Women’s Day.
“This annual event features valuable information on nutrition, finances and education for women and we were proud to have Central Arizona College as one of our sponsors.”
