Central Arizona College sets community forums in Maricopa and Northern Pinal County
May 16, 2008
CASA GRANDE, Ariz. – Central Arizona College has set community forums in Maricopa and the Apache Junction/Gold Canyon area in an effort to help the college learn more about the future educational needs of Pinal County college students.
The Apache Junction/Gold Canyon forum is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Monday, June 2, at the Gold Canyon Golf Resort, 6100 S. Kings Ranch Road, in Gold Canyon.
Another forum will be held at 6 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, at Global Water, 22590 North Powers Parkway in Maricopa. Community members are encouraged to attend and voice their educational needs to college staff.
Dennis Jenkins, Central Arizona College president/CEO, said the forums will help the college determine the need and timing of a future bond election. “We want to find out from the community what they desire in a college campus or center. Do we need additional programs or facilities? Do we need to provide service in other communities?”
With that information, Jenkins explained the college can formulate a plan to meet the needs that may include a bond election.
The college held a May 12 meeting in Casa Grande to gather information from Western Pinal County residents.
